Long, long day. Up at 7, waiting for the bus in the cold, shade, and wind at 8:30, on the bus by 9, in NYC by by 11:20, went up the Empire State building, walked to Grand Central, walked to Times Square, took the subway to Soho and looked at a few shops, walked over to chinatown and had to very average fried squid, walked over to the Brooklyn Bridge and went halfway across it, came back, walked past city hall, walked over to the over side of the island and wandered along the walkway that leads to battery park, walked up to Wall St, took the subway back to Times Square, walked over to Rockefeller Plaza, walked by to the bus pickup/drop off, went to a diner (that had cops in, so a proper diner), ate an average burger and a great milkshake), got on the bus at 9:30, saw the whole amazing skyline shortly afterwards when we we getting on the NJ turnpike, got back to Philly at 11:15, got to my apartment 11:35. Fell asleep.*
I told you it was a long day!
*I fell asleep until 4:20, when a fire engine turned up on the Square and felt the need to run its siren for a couple of minutes. Why!!!!
