Rittenhouse Timelapse (Again)

Another Rittenhouse Timelapse from Andrew Bowness on Vimeo.

This time I took what I learned from the previous two attempts, and I think I’m improve on it. I set my camera to take shot continuously (achieved by wrapping a rubber band around the camera and placing a 10c piece over the shutter button, then I duct taped it to a sqaure pot I found in the kitchen so it wouldn’t move or fall, then I took the pictures out the window. It was a warm night so I could leave the window open, which was good because my windows are pretty dirty, something I can’t do anything about seeing as I’m 10 floors up. The camera barely moved around which was good, and over the course of about 30-40 minutes it got 1489 images, so there was a really smooth transition from day to night.

The exposures are a bit short when it’s night time, so you lose the lights in the background, but the road is still pretty interesting, though I would have liked more blur on the cars. I think my favourite point is around 10/11 seconds, when there’s a guy making a call on the sidewalk and he goes and leans against the building, I don’t know why, I just think it’s cool.
