I visited ESP on Wednesday and had a thoroughly fascinating time. It was an hour long tour and we were guided around the (abandoned) prison being told about it’s history and the various technological and architectural features of it.

The level of decay made for some excellent photo opportunities, but since I was in a tour group pictures were largely a hit-and-run affair. This isn’t the correct wing of the prison, but part of the upcoming Transformers film was shot in a wing much like this one, which I thought was pretty cool. Twelve Monkeys was also filmed here, amongst other films.
