Even though I haven’t been able to sleep for most of the past two nights because of a sore throat/cold/cough/flu I got up at 8, woke up Neil, and we headed off to Kendal because there’s an o2 and a Carphone Warehouse store in the shopping centre (which opens at 9), we got to the stores at 9:10, and after finding that the Carphone Warehouse shop only had two phones and about 6 people in the queue (how does that work?) I moved on to the offiicial o2 shop. The queue was longer there (there was even cones & tape setup to ensure a well ordered queue), and since the o2 site said that stores would have 1 or 2 dozen iPhones each, we decided that it was pointless and went off to do our food shopping as planned. Neil went back about two hours later and saw that the person at the back of the queue when we arrived was now at the front of the queue, which left me a bit dejected, but I was feeling sick as a dog (what does that even mean?) so I wouldn’t have wanted to stand in a queue for a couple of hours anyway.
When we got home I started reading around forums to see what the experience was like for other people, and by the sounds of it ‘not good’ is accurate. But I also saw a few forum posts that went along the lines of “I went/rang CW and they said they’ve got 2000 in the warehouse, and they’ll deliver it tomorrow for £15.” So Neil and I thought it was worth ringing up, and indeed it was, because Neil has been able to upgrade his o2 contract, and I’ve been able to start a new contract, and just need to get my Orange PAC code to o2 within 28 days.
I guess that with a little perseverance you can achieve the seemingly impossibleunlikely! (and could have spent a couple of hours extra in bed)
