A post about an awesome sandwich I ate, followed by a picture of me where I think I look good. Yup, I am most definitely blogging again.

I made an awesome sandwich a few weeks ago, and I just got Flickr Uploadr to start working again today (something to do with virus protection not liking it) so I thought I’d get back in the swing of things with a nice picture of a sandwich.

I went to the chinese supermarket in Lancaster for the first time today. It isn’t that big, but is stuffed with loads of great, authentic products that I can’t wait to try. It was surprisingly cheap too, we managed to fill two carrier bags and it only came to £15, which is great considering that a place like this still a bit of a novelty in our area, so they could have easily cranked up the prices and still got my custom.

I seemed to spend all day making sushi and it ended up not being all-that excited, but was surprisingly tasty.
I messed up the rice, and the mackerel wasn’t fresh enough (red eyes=not eating it raw) and wasn’t gutted, which meant I had to gut it myself. But still, after all my efforts, it still tasted pretty good, even if it wasn’t quite as good looking as the platter in the picture.

Just got the message through that I won’t be working for joshspear.com in the near future. They say that its because of the distance, which is better than them saying that I suck as a writer, so I guess it isn’t all bad.
I’d actually suspected I wouldn’t get the internship when my application dragged on for a few weeks, so I’d already lined up a few potential jobs that I might apply for.
So it looks like you guys in the LD are stuck with me for a bit longer at least.

[the picture is actually of the support band, and taken in London not Manchester, but I liked it a lot]
Finch were great last night, easily better than the first two times I saw them, although that probably has something to do with them being in a smaller, more intimate venue. I hadn’t been to a gig for ages (I can’t think of one since Muse @ wembley almost a year ago), and seeing the passion and energy of the crowd and band reminded me why I used to enjoy live music so much. The ages of the crowd was surprisingly high as well, no pre-teen emo kids here, which I assume was because Finch split up in 2006 and haven’t been hyped much since their return.
