Just after being in Mimosa we were trying to find somewhere for lunch, but as time was getting on a bit places only seemed to be serving ice cream. So we headed down to the more commercialised town of La Lavandou, and encountered a similar problem vis a vis the lack of places selling food at 3:30. I spotted a boulangerie on a back street and we got a few slices of quiche (which turned out to be rather delicious). We decided to eat the quiche whilst sat on the promenade around the harbour, and wouldn’t you know it, as soon as we sat down I noticed we were right in front of a space invaders. These mosaic monsters are practically falling into my lap now!

St. tropez kind of made sense for a space invader spot. Whilst St. Tropez isn’t exactly the biggest place in the world, it has international recognition. Mimosa on the other hand is a small village perched on the hillside a bit further west along the coast. I guess that made this more of an exciting spot since it was so unexpected, and since it was hidden down an alley that most tourists wouldn’t necessarily head down.

Out of shot is a rather bemused looking woman wondering why someone is taking a picture of a wall.

Whenever I’m wearing earphones and working on my laptop no one ever bothers me and asks me to do anything, even if I’m sat in the middle of the kitchen with people walking past all the time, its crazy.

I’m totally gutted by the England result, before the game started I didn’t think we had a chance, but as it wore on and we were still close I thought that the impossible might be possible, but alas it wasn’t to be, still, 2nd place is nothing to be scoffed at for that squad.

Anyway, I just thought I’d show off my new watch. Yes, that’s a watch. Neil brought it with him out to France as it hadn’t arrived before I set off on the looong van drive.

It’s from Tokyo Flash and is unbelievably cool. Each light represents a different number hours on the left, tens of minutes in the middle, single minutes on the right) and it flashes little patterns before bringing up the real time. It’s totally a watch for showing off and posing, but it’s still really cool.

Tyse, I caught another one!

France truly is Space Invader country, they’re all over the place and in really unexpected places. I spotted this one (presumably not done by the original artist as the tiles are far too big and the shape doesn’t really fit with his style) on the drive into the village and made sure that we headed back that way during our walk around.

Yep, that title should just about cover all my SEO needs.

There was 100s of porsche’s down in St. Tropez last weekend for the annual meet there. Old cars, new cars, this incredible scissor door-ed 911 that seemed to be generating the largest crowd. There was plenty of trophy wives sat in the passenger seats as well.

Also spotted, Aston Martins, Rolls Royce’s, Ferrari’s, basically anything you could name.

Except the IEDs are attached to female chests (it’s a terrible metaphor but run with it), drive-bys happen in Ferrari’s (very slowly), and people know how to spell Baghdad.

Although, I would be willing to bet that the pastries in both cities are pretty delicious if you know where to go.

It would appear that prolonged exposure to the sun if giving me headaches…. boo!

And I decided to start opting out of the eating schedule here, I really don’t need 4/5 meals a day, so I’m skipping 2nd breakfast, and usually missing mid-afternoon cake time too.

Spotted a load of space invaders over the past few days, when I get them onto flickr I’ll let let you know.
