Me? On The Clothes Show?

Posted by Bone at August 20th, 2007

You all know I have the world most ridiculous job-that-isn’t-really-a job, right? (writing about hoodies and t-shirts for those that don’t know)

Well, I got an e-mail a couple of hours ago from a producer of The Clothes Show (which is on UKTV Style and presented by Louise Redknapp) asking if I’d like to be on the show to talk about hoodies. I’m really tempted, although I don’t really know what I’d say and I don’t really know if I have a big enough collection of hoodies to look like an expert (I think I’ve got 5 or 6, and most of them aren’t that stylish).

My life is so weird.

Lieutenant Chuck Norris

Lieutenant Chuck Norris

I totally forgot that I took this picture of the TV earlier in the year. It was at the height of the ‘Chuck Norris Fact’ era, and I thought it was hilarious at the time… no it just seems a bit odd.

Why…

Posted by Bone at August 18th, 2007

Is it so damn hard to find a decent looking RSS feed button?

I just noticed that HYA was lacking in that respect, so I started the hunt but it took me way too long to find something that wasn’t ugly.

Busy busy

Posted by Bone at August 18th, 2007

Man, busy week! I’ve been out every night (not drinking, but still around) and I’ve done a lot more work than usual, not as much as I would’ve hoped on HYA, but actual work, manly stuff like carrying bags of cement, carrying and burning off cuts of wood, collecting large amounts of cash and driving a van. And it still hasn’t finished, now I’ve got to do some nerd work of transferring accounting software and data from one computer to another so that Mum’s computer can be brought into this decade, she currently does half of the accounts on a computer that I think has a 150 or 200mhz processor, and we need to upgrade her to the 2ghz one before the old one completely fails on us since its cd drive is broken and it no longer shuts off properly, and obviously it is hideously slow running programmes.

There isn’t much news on the job front, I’ve been looking, but I don’t really know what I’m looking for to be honest, maybe I’ll work for the business, maybe I’ll build my own media empire, who knows?

And then later tonight I’m heading back to Dickie Doodles for the bands first show on their own, should be exciting and I think we’re getting a pretty decent crowd going there too.

Stop showing off!

Posted by Bone at August 15th, 2007

What is it about everyone who owns an iPhone and insisting that every time they e-mail me they must either mention the fact they own an iPhone, or finish messages with “- sent from my iPhone”.

Maybe its just something that happens automatically when you send an e-mail from one?

Off to the Moon

Posted by Bone at August 15th, 2007

The guys finally (finally!) played live to an audience of more than 2 people last night when they got involved with an open mic night at Dickie Doodles in Kendal. They were limited to just two songs but they were still pretty impressive considering they weren’t using their own amps, PA, or drum kit.

The song above is ‘Jazzman’ and there’s not much I could do about the darkness in the video because, well, it was pretty dark. Lee had his camera fixed on them during their two songs so maybe he’ll get some vids uploaded and I’ll post those too.

The Brown Van…

Posted by Bone at August 15th, 2007

UPS came today and picked up my Xbox, considering I only rang yesterday afternoon around 4 I think that’s pretty good service.

The lights, they are red!

Posted by Bone at August 13th, 2007

Noooooooo!

My Xbox360 has experienced what a phenomenon that all 360 owners dread, the 3 red lights of death.

After 8 months of what can only be described as moderate use (at least until I bought Forza Motorsport and started playing a lot more) it has begun crashing seconds into games launching, or simply not starting up and blinking red at me.

It sucks, but I think I’ll survive without it, and hopefully the UPS man will turn up within a couple of days and it will be fixed quickly and back next to the TV soon.

Anyone catch the meteor shower?

Posted by Bone at August 13th, 2007

I thought that the Perseid were going to be a complete washout (literally), but around 2AM there was a few breaks in the cloud and rain so we (me and Neil) managed to get outside and crane our necks skyward in the hope of seeing some shooting stars.

I saw about 6, including one with a trail that remained for a couple of seconds after the initial star, which is pretty good going since we weren’t out there long, but if there hadn’t been any cloud it would have been a much more successful night.

I didn’t both taking any pictures because my camera is limited to a 30 second exposure and that simply isn’t enough time to capture any of those stars or be lucky enough to get a shooting star at the same time.

No rockin’ at the Bobbin

Posted by Bone at August 13th, 2007

Just in case anyone wasn’t aware yet, the gig at the Bobbin has been canceled because the pub is being refurbished.

I think Rob is trying to get them a gig somewhere else though.
