Howdy Claire!
Posted by Claire at July 17th, 2007
What is going on with the weather this summer?! York’s suffering from it’s 2nd thunderstorm of the day and it’s only 4.30pm… so I’ve had to un-plug the TV aerial, missing amazing programmes such as Sally Jane Raphael and Ricki Lake, part of the unemployed persons’ daily routine.
That’s right, I’m unemployed. And have been for 2 months now. Yeah, it’s not settling so well on the pocket or the mind. But I had to leave Strada. That place was bringing me down so much & I’d only been working there a few months. I’m not 100% sure where any of my makings have gone either cos I have never been so poor in my life… and I was a student for 3 years! All my coursemates graduated the other day, which was heartbreaking for me to not be on that stage with them, though I was beaming with pride the entire time and full of excitement that this time next year, that would be me. I’m so looking forward to going back to Uni now… with having no job I’m not only very broke but also very BORED! Days are spent lazing around on the sofa watching aforementioned ‘quality’ viewing…
But yesterday mine & Nick’s landlord decided he would brighten our lives, my days and the summer by announcing he is selling our house under our feet! Joy! So now I have wonderful things to do during the hours of daylight like wander around town in the pouring rain looking for somewhere to rent and have my eyes glued to my laptop all evening trawling the internet for the perfect house. Which isn’t easy.
Oh what am I saying, it’s not all doom and gloom, Nick’s landed a brilliant job at York Hospital as a Patient Access Clerk and I get to go back to Windermere in 2 weeks time for a jolly nice rest at home. Then I have a lovely holiday in Roma to look forward to in September before the final onslaught of my 2nd attempt at 4th year begins…
Let’s examine the evidence:
a) Moaning
b) Whining
c) Misery
= CLAIRE’S BACK!
