Bone is tired

Posted by Bone at September 30th, 2006

I don’t know why I’m guilty about not blogging, since I’ve given you oh-so-many geeked-out links to enjoy overe the past few days, but here’s a round -up anyway.

I went to watch the football in Newcastle yesterday, which was great, although the 200+ mile round trip left me pretty knackered, and we were at the ‘wrong’ end for seeing the Toons’ goals, but at least the Chinese food afterwards was nice.

Went out in A-side on Wednesday with Tyse, Hartsy & Sarah (thought I better mention you guys since I know you actually read this stuff regularly) and then met up with some others in Sporty’s, I had a really great night, with mucho laughter, and I didn’t even mind too much that I wasn’t drinking, I guess good company makes up for bad drinks (VKs must mess up your insides, think about it).

Just got in from a night out in Bowness, which was also super-fun, even though there wasn’t that many of us. In fact, it was just me and Tyson until 10:30, then Hannah, Rach, Steve, Eleanor and Liz joined us, then Tyson left us before we headed down to the house of Wheels. Usually when I go out in Bowness and I’m not drinking the time seems to go by very slowly, but since I was actually having a good time tonight I barely noticed that it had got to 1:30 and I needed to go home (forgot house keys=dumbass!), which isn’t to say I have more fun with these guys than anyone else, since I’d never actually gone out with that specific group before, but hey, why search for meaning, I had a good time and thats all that counts.

Tyse wants me to make it 4 nights out in a row and go out in Lancaster tomorrow, but my stomach is hurting something fierce, so I ain’t sure….

BGBC versus the world

Posted by Bone at September 27th, 2006

Remember a while back when I was whining that I wasn’t really doing anything productive, and that it was just plain embarassing to have to describe myself as unemployed?

Well, I’ve changed that. I’m going to go around the world….. next year.

(Probably)

Tigg has invited me to join him on his gap-year travelling, and whilst I do hate the term ‘travelling’ and the stigma that is attached to it, that is what I shall be doing.

We haven’t exactly hammered out the deets yet, but there’s a lean towards asia, oz, new zealand, and the US, which means that whilst we are willing to travel around the world, we aren’t that willing to learn a new language!

Help Bone get a new mobile

Posted by Bone at September 25th, 2006

Anyone out there have a clue about mobile phones, I’m going to be getting a new one fairly soon and am trying to lay down some research and would appreciate some thoughts from the BGBC collective. In a perfect world it would have wifi and a keyboard, so some recommendations with those criteria would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, just tell me how awesome your W800i is…

(if you were wondering why this post doesn’t quite fit with the usual it’s because I needed an excuse to play around with time-stamping of blog posts)

A million ways to have some fun

Posted by Bone at September 25th, 2006

So, another long and awesome weekend for le Bone, here’s a quick recap.

Friday was great, me and Tigg managed to get to the Manchester Academy on time (though the queue was huge and we missed most of The Matches, though I don’t really think we missed ‘the next big thing’). OK Go, were a lot better than I expected, and they danced (of course) which led to about 50% of the crowd whipping out their mobiles to get some low quality video. I’d say that Motion City Soundtrack are probably better live than on CD, they have a great energy and appreciation for their crowd, and having a hyperactive keyboardist probably helps.

Saturday was great too, we (me, Tigg, Tyse and Cartlidge) went down to Green’s house in Lancaster and had a night out there for a change. Even though one of the reasons I go for nights out in Bowness is because I like to meet loads of people I know from school but don’t hang out with much, it was fun to go out somewhere different, especially considering it seems that the majority of the women in Lancaster are blazin’ hotties.

I’m so dreamy….

Posted by Bone at September 25th, 2006

You know you’ve got power in the online independent clothing industry when people start dreaming about you!

David, the guy that runs Seibei has written a pretty lengthy blog post about how I starred in one of his dreams, which was most likely because he’s obsessed with clothing and is going to be introducing some hoodies to his range fairly soon, rather than some kind of of stalking issue.

Also, he mentions that I was blogging from a Sidekick (in the dream), which is interesting because I’m currently looking at new phones, and the Sidekick is one of my options, though I would much rather have a phone which has wifi capability. It would be great if you could put some recommendations in the comments.
