Pushing The Senses

Feeder were… just amazing. As you can see from this picture that Debbie took (one of about a 100), we were so close to the stage, literally in front of the very gorgeous Grant’s mike stand. That’s Grant that is gorgeous, not the mike stand, you know?

It’s 26 hours worth of post-age, so there’s a jump…

So, I begin my day at 6am, obscenly excited, but not about my lectures which started at 8am. It took Debbie & I a bit of time to get going, changing shoes etc & going to pick up the tickets for our next jaunt to Munich (James Blunt, July). Upon arriving in Munich Train Station we headed straight to Burger King. The next few hours were spent wandering aimlessly around Munich, getting scared about the sheer amount of weirdos that were allowed out on the street, but we eventually (after getting on the wrong tram, TWICE!) made it to Backstage Club, the venue for tonight’s festivities.

The venue itself was really small, like the size of a barfly if you’ve been in one, which I was a bit worried about, but it had one huge advantage. You could stand right at the front without being squashed. So that’s what we did. The support act were pretty good too, it was a german band, but they had some good tunes. Then Feeder arrived. They began their set with ‘Feeling A Moment’ and rumbled their way through all the classics including ‘Buck Rogers’, recent single ‘Lost And Found’, sampling new song ‘Save Us’ before finally encoring with ‘Insomnia’, ‘High’ and ‘Just A Day.’ Grant won over the english population & even thanked Debbie when she yelled “WE LOVE YOU FEEDER!” I was gutted when they finished their set, I could have danced & tried to grab either Grant or Taka’s hand for the rest of the night!

But we eventually left the club & headed into town to go to a bar called Atomic Cafe which is another venue & has seen Artic Monkeys recentley (for which my tickets got lost in the post), but we accidently stumbled across a McDonalds and then weirdly enough, the same thing happened when we coudn’t find the bar. Funny that?! It’s amazing how speaking English attracts drunken men…

We had the idea of having a little nap in the Subway after being kicked out of McDonalds (approx 2.30am) but what ensued instead was pure comedy. Some drunken lads come wandering over to us, I’m thinking women’s self defence moves, but they were actually really sound guys. This one boy just kept saying “We make a party now” every couple of minutes & offering to show us his snake. And I mean an actual snake. Sadly though we couldn’t take him up on such a generous offer of making a party & touching his snake as we had to take the train back to Regensburg at 5.30.

After paying for a ticket AGAIN cos we were half asleep & didn’t buy the right one originally, we made it back to the ‘burg at 7am, where I zombied onto the wrong bus so ended up driving around the bloody place for another hour or so before I crawled into bed at 8am. I thought I’d probably sleep for a couple of hours & make it to my 12pm lecture.

I woke up at 5.30pm.

But some bloody good times were had & Feeder is a band I will keep my eye out for next time they tour the UK.
