Hi My Name Is Mark - Mark Hoppus Podcast site
How did I not know about Mark Hoppus’ podcast site? They’ve already done 5 episodes, it took a quick post from Punktastic for me to realise that it even existed.
If you aren’t aware Mark Hoppus was a founding member of Blink 182, who opened a gateway that has led me to the music I love today.
He’s jumped on the podcast bandwagon and has a site that showcases bands he likes and is totally non-commercial, no links on the site at all. Though the amount of time dedicated to Motion City Soundtrack (whose latest CD he produced) may turn 20 minutes of Mark into an infomercial, probably not, he just loves the band.
And the MP3 downloads are pretty small so I’ve uploaded them to my phone for those lonely walks to uni.
So, yeah, good music, good chatter, and well worth 20 minutes of your time.

It would be far, far too easy for me to do a French riot post by linking to some news site, with it’s fair and frank discussion.
It would also be utterly utterly pointless, because bigguybigcity.com is your primary news outlet then you probably think that I’m a celebrity (and I thank you for that), binge drinking ISN’T a problem, students eat fillet steak, and most students only have 4 hours of tuition a week.
So instead of me trying to be creative, enjoy someone else’s picture (which may or may not actually be from France, it just looks cool).

Relish the Relish
My most favouritest food blog (though, I do only read one) has written a post about the Hawskhead Relish Company, which is apparently making a bit of a splash down in ‘that London’ with tastings at the Covent Garden Food Fair.
Regular readers will be aware that I spent most of my life in the Lake District, so it’s great to see a truly local brand getting exposed to a more global market.
Do they make a sweet & sour relish? I remember me falling in love with the relish from the corner shop but then they stopped stocking it because we were the only ones who would ever buy it.
*Edit: No, they don’t. The search goes on*

Is a message for you, oh greater being, if you exist. My friend Sally said that if God lived on the earth, people would break his windows. I’d be first one there with my brick.
I’ve been letting down the readers, I’m sorry, but at the moment I have nothing I really want/can write about here. I hate German Geography soooo much! We have German culture (til 1945) tomorrow morning & I’ve been doing my homework, and frankly I don’t think I’ve answered enough questions to pass it. Stupid German Roman Empire. [Richard: does this refer to the Holy Roman Empire? It’s just that I’m writing an essay about it.. Oh, the shame of knowledge)
Got another food parcel from my mum & dad and our Franz Ferdinand tickets have arrived. Made my day! Went to Subway for my lunch. For a change.

So it was Richard’s real birthday on Tuesday, but since we always go out on a Tuesdya he must have been afraid that he wouldn’t be remembered, frankly, I think he just wanted to feel special.
With this in mind we went out last night to the Leicester University Union night called Madfer-it (copious google keyword-age there) and all got thoroughly sloshed, especially Rob who got up at 3 in the afternoon and was surely an Ibiza podium dancer in a previous life.
More story and some sexy, sexy cameraphone pictures after the jump

So, long time no post… well I’ve been kept busy with my own blog, but I promise I’m not jumping ship, things just take a bit longer as I don’t want to let down my adoring fans by copying & pasting my entries. That would just not be acceptable!
Wongs on Wednesday night was interesting to say the least. It was busy. They played ‘When I Come Around’ by Green Day. And that’s really all I can remember. Pawel’s sticking to the same story, but I know he’s just trying to protect me against the harsh world that was the state of Claire. Let’s just say I’m hoping he’s never going to see me like that again, but he’s seen me at my worse, so it’s uphill from now… Oops! But seriously, bloody legend that guy & I would have been SCREWED without him. And he’s hardcore, he’s ‘Wonged’ it 3 times this week & I think is probably clubbing in Munich all tonight. Respect.
Feeling a bit crap about being here today. It’s taking some getting used to & frankly I don’t want to get used to it!! I just wish I could go home whenever I want, but is £250 & I can’t afford it. I’ve been searching the internet for English shops in Germany in order to get Walkers Crisps/Ribena/Robinson’s fix & I’m tempted to open my own bloody shop here in Regensburg! The majority of German people I have met are really not that friendly, they look at you like you’re a fool if you can’t speak their language & have no patience to try & decipher what the hell I’m trying to ask them. So I feel like I don’t want to bother! But I suppose there’s only 6 weeks left then I’m back for Christmas. Can’t wait.
That’s it for now… but c-heck out my picture on the flikr! I’m loving that t-shirt! And Bone’s right I was the first lady to purchase some merchandizzle. Get me, all the girls are JEALOUS!

Just to even out the sandwich post I thought I’d prove that I’m a capable cook by showing off the fillet steaks that I made for me and Rory.
They were stuffed with buffalo mozarella, sun-dried tomatoes, and fresh Basil, that’s right, I went out and bought a basil plant.
Very, very tasty. And served on a bed of salad leaves, so it was actually healtier than most steak dishes, yay me!

Food, Interesting Links
The most ridiculously large sandwich you will ever see in your entire life.
I did create some excellent sandwiches at the beginning of the summer, but this guy seems to be trying to turn it into a sport.
Basically, a guy saw an 8500 calorie sandwich on the ‘net, and decided he could do better. He claims 30,000 but I’m in agreement with the folks at slashfood, there is no way that all the buttor and oil has gone into the sandwich, otherwise it would weigh more, and be largely liquid.
Click the link and marvel, and then be shocked that a guy that size can eat 30,000 calories and 6.5 pounds of sandwich in 12 hours.

London to Cape Town Charity Cycle Ride
I got an e-mail from Tyse today telling me about this guy he met when he went to America for the summer a couple of years ago.
Turns out he’s given up his regular life for a few months to do something meaningful. Cycling from London to Capetown for charities that support sport in Africa. He’s into his 3rd month now and has a pretty interesting diary that you can peruse.
So check it out, donate if you can, and to other bloggers that read this, it would be awesome if you could link to the guy, or trackback to me, just to get him some more publicity for the cause.

If you do a search for the tag of ‘Drunk’ on Flickr around Halloween time then some pretty interesting things come up.
Btw, anyone noticed the Flickr lean today, I’ve decided it may be more useful than I first imagined, I may even purchase a Pro account.
