Things are looking up

February 3rd, 2004  |  Published in

Ok, my XBOX problems have been sorted, my dad suggested I should try a different fuse before I pcked it up and sent it off to Microsoft, he obviously didn’t understand that the average student doesn’t carry spare fuses just in case something goes wrong. So I went to Homebase and got 3Amp and 5Amp fuses. When I got back from Loughborough (visiting Tigg, Smoothy and the girls) I swapped over the fuses in the plug, and ta-da!!! the green light of happiness was illuminated like a beacon of game playing heaven.

Now the explanation of the 5 amp fuses, I figured that I might as well check to see if the problems with my laptop adaptor stemmed from another blown fuse since both the XBOX and the laptop had been in the same socket at some point or another, so I swapped the fuse in the laptop plug and then when I attached the lead to the adaptor there was a quiet bang (is there such a thing) and then a funny smell, a lot like the one that there was when I destroyed the first digital camera we owned, only not as harsh. Upon further inspection, the prongs on the adaptor had stopped looking so smooth and were now dimpled and knobbly as if they had melted partially. I think it is now safe to say that the adaptor is now well and truly buggered. I’d like to point out that I did nothing wrong in this whole episode, since I only replaced the fuse with one of equal value.

This doesn’t matter though because mum called up saying that there was a packaged signed for me at 9:46 by someone called M.Ridgeway which I really hope is someone in the office. Unfortunately when I get back to Halls the office will be closed and I won’t be able to pick up my new adaptor, though I doubt that they picked up my adaptor cos I’d just left it in the hallway, haha jokes on you Sony, I have a useless piece of junk!! though I guess I can open it up now and at least try and fix/understand it.

Realised last night that I haven’t exercised for a few days ,so I’d better get back on programme.

Going to see Aqualung/Bic Runga tomorrow, at the Students Union, which is annoying cos it was moved from this nice looking venue called the Music Cafe. Gonna collect the tickets when I’ve finished typing this.

I’m undecided at to what to do tonight, Tigg and Smoothy want me to go out with them in Loughborough, I’ve promised a load of people that I’ll go down to the Fan Club with them here. I’m absolutely knackered as well, so I’d rather just sleep and get an early night, but that’s pretty unlikely, what with peer pressure and all.

Wow, I’ve managed to fit 1 days worth of news into just 25 minutes of typing.

Bye bye,
Bono
