Sorry about doing nothing for over a week now, I’ll try and update soon, cos I have a huge amount to talk about, I’ve had loads of work and troubles to deal with. So this is short, the next one won’t be.

Sorry again,

Here you go guys, another lift from an e-mail, but to be fair I would have written basically the same thing anyway.

Dunno if everyone’s heard my birthday story yet, and despite it being over a week ago , here I go.

Woke up, opened cards, opened door, found a few cards at the foot of my door, which is nice, so I ended up with like 13 cards about half of which were from the house. The day itself was pretty uneventful, cos Thursday is my day off from uni, so thats when I type up my notes and catch up on reading, at least thats what I always intend to do.

Anyway, went over to the JCR for my mail, got a couple of cards and a present from Neil, which was a cool Sony USB pen, which sounds really boring, and technically it is, but its what I asked him for and it was what I got, and I can use it to download videos (music) and mp3’s at uni, so I can still be cool Bone who knows about bands no one else does.

Later that day I went for dinner, at 5:30 which I’m still not used to, as I left I saw Duncan, an affable chap who most of the people in our house don’t like and blame me for bringing him there, despite that fact he mostly hangs about in my room listening to CD’s and eating cake. So I finished chatting to him and walked over to the house, looked at the door and holy crap! They’d put balloons on the door and a banner and a little sign saying ‘Andy’s Birthday Balloon Bonanza’ so I took out my phone to take a picture, but unfortunately I dropped my phone and now it has a few little scratches in it. So I open the door, and it looks mighty dark inside so I open the interior door, the lights come on, there’s balloons everywhere and people jump out shouting surprise. So amazing cool of them to do all this for me, and they got me a beer hat, y’know one of those things where you put 2 cans in and then you drink them through a straw, but it didn’t quite work out because I ended up drinking 2 Stella’s worth of foam, ewwww.

So I get changed to go out (cos I gotta wear a shirt if I’m gonna look ‘fly’ for the ladies), and when I walk out of my room its dark again and they had got me a cake, with candles and everything!! so like 25 of us went out (hell yes I’m fairly popular) so we took up like most of the top half of the bus, which was cool, so we get to the courthouse (pub we frequent regularly in the middle of town)……… scene missing…….. so we get home, and Laura and Satvinder looked after me, and random people just entered and exited my room for the next few hours, as I drank several pints (of water) and sat up talking to Paz till about 5ish, good times.

I think I’ve written more than enough to bore the hell out of you all. This week itself has been pretty boring, except I saw 3 bands on wednesday, Imogen, the next autumn sound track (no capital letters there, it is emo you know), and a cool band called My Awesome Compilation, who were Leicester native but have toured the UK and America, so I thought there’d be a huge crowd, but there was only like 50-70 people and everyone seemed to know them except for us, and I’m going to see 4ft Fingers tonight, even though I don’t have any of their albums this will be the 3rd time I’ve seen them. I went to see Finding Nemo on Friday night aswell, its not that bad to be fair.

Peace to ma homes (I saw that on TV once)

Okay, so I lied, well I didn’t lie, I just didn’t do what I said I would, so soz about that but I did have genuine reasons, like my laptop literally wouldn’t turn on, which was very scary because I haven’t printed off any of the notes I’ve taken, and I only back them up to the other side of the drive partition when I realise I haven’t done it for ages, so I was up really late just turning it on and off hoping something would happen. But thats all sorted now because as we all know leaving a computer overnight fixes it, whatever the problem. So I might manage to write some stuff up over the weekend, though I’ve realsied that I’d better start researching my non-assessed essays, cos I have 3 due on the same day, so I don’t wanna end up in a last minute situation. Also I saw 3 bands on wednesday, and there was like 50 people there max, how cool am I, so goddam alternative, also, so goddam tired I keep meaning to have an early night but end up chatting to people at like 3 in the morning.

All for now

Major update tomorrow, with my whole birthday story on it. I’ll write it in the house tonight then post it from uni tomorrow, using my kick-ass new Sony USB memory device, that Neil got me for my birthday, no more floppies for me, and I can get songs off MP3.com in like 20 seconds at uni, put them on the memory stick, then play them on my laptop when I get home!!

Till tomozzle,

Whilst I do severely dig being at uni, I can’t wait to come home for a few days, sleep in my own bed, have baths instead of showers, and not be forced to party every night.

I’m very ill at the moment, so basically I’m turning up to lectures and tutorials, sitting there, blowing my nose, then leaving one hour later.

Yesterday I had my first tutorial, so I went in and the guy said something along the lines of “welcome to introduction to politics” and I thought that was odd cos I’d written down International relations for this time, but I figured I’d just wirrten the worng title, cos i do Intro. to Politics as one of my modules, so I happily sat there for an hour, when I left the room I realised I was meant to be in LG87 not LG85, so that was a waste of time, and I went to basically the same tutorial today, but this time with the right people, so I’m back on track.

There’s something I really wanna write on here, but I can’t, so whilst I am being quite the tease, I’m afraid you’ll have to wait.

Also, I just realised that I ain’t spoken to Greeno for over a week, friends forever eh? ha, I’ll call him later, although I have already gone over my text and call allowance on my phone, looks like yet another big bill heading my way.

I think I’ve been quite good at my updating since I got here, cos I keep having things in the mornings, and then a long break, then a lecture, so I end up getting the crappy food in the halls, but you get top notch blogging.

and finally for today, I think I’ve dropped into my role back in Cumbria, I get the feeling that I’ll be the guy the girls talk to about boys….. whoopdedoo…. although one of the girls upstairs has requested at least 30mins of Andy time a day, though she does have a boyfriend, who lives 10feet from my door, but still *puts up two thumbs in the style of the Fonz*. Also, theres a girls who lives directly above me, called Sophie, who coughs at night, so I show concern by telling her to shut up, that was a joke by the way, if I’d actually spoken it, you WOULD be laughing, but it was typed, so therefore not funny, but in my head, hilarious.

Ramble ramble ramble.

Oh, and just so anyone knows, I’m going home (Cumbria) on the 10th of October for the whole weekend, so if anyone happens to be home and wants to meet up, just text or call me on my mobile.

I had the goddamn coldest shower ever today, it started off lukewarm but then it went downhill, though I did manage to clean myself sufficiently. Also the girls knocked on my window to wake me up, but I was already in breakfast (for the first time this week!!), but still, its nice to know that people care.

Ok, even though it says I’ve already posted this on my administrators page it clearly hasn’t gone onto the site, so I’m gonna try and post it again, even thought its week old information, but I haven’t really done that much this week. Though I did go to a pyjama party last night, that was pretty cool, because basically it was like going to the pub, except you were warmer cos I was wearing my dressing gown, except the ultimate fashion disaster occurred, I found someone wearing the same dressing gown.

Hey guys,

I figured it would be a lot easier to just type one big e-mail and send it to all of you, rather than lots of smaller ones.

I’ve had a pretty big first week, with a whole lot of crap happening. I’m in a place called Kent House, there’s 5 other lads on the ground floor and then 12 girls upstairs, it actually feels more like a house than I thought it would, because we all hang out in the hall and watch TV and DVD’s together, so we all get on well, whereas in the other houses there doesn’t seem to be much community spirit.

Food is alright in the Halls, but not a scratch on mums, but I can always cook noodles if I’m hungry, and Endsleigh gave me 2 pot noodles when I got insurance with them. I’m sure none of you are interested in me registering for my classes, so I’ll skip that and move on. Went on a pub crawl on Monday, but it wasn’t much of a crawl, we only went in 6 places.

Wednesday was probably the worst day I’ve had this week, I went out in the morning, cos I had some uni stuff to do, and when I got back I realised that the 24 cans of Stella I’d bought weren’t in the kitchen, so I asked the boys if one of them had put it in their room for safe-keeping, cos we’d said that would be a good idea, but they hadn’t, so obviously it had been nicked, which could easily happen, because there’s builders coming in and out all the time, leaving the door open.

Then later that night, we came back form the JCR and were sat in the hall watching TV, there was about 8 of us, and we heard someone hitting Tom’s (has room next to mine) window, so he ran outside and saw someone running off into a car and then they sped off, we thought nothing of it and just figured it was just some guys having a laugh. So we finished watching TV about 1 and decided tourn in for the night, so I picked up my TV and walked into my room, it felt peculiarly cold, then I looked at my windows, one of them was smashed in, which frankly scared the shit out of me, cos back home in Langdale I’m pretty sure it has the lowest, or at least one of the lowest, crime rates in the entire country, and then I come to Leicester and I’m the subject of 2 crimes in one day. I went through to Richards room and told him what happened, so we got the sub-warden, but she couldn’t do anything really except for help clean up the glass. So I had to sleep in my room, with a frying pan at the side of the bed (most lethal thing I could find). Every time a car went past or I heard people speaking, I totally thought that they were coming back to get my stuff, but I did get to sleep eventually, only to be awoken by the Duty manager who wanted to see the damage, but she actually asked me if I did it myself, so I pointed out that the glass was on the inside of the room, and that my room was cold enough without my smashing a window. At this point I was informed that I’d be paying for the window, even though the police had come to see the damage, so there was no way that they thought it was me.

Day after that the fire alarm went off at about 12, and we were told that if it went off we were to call the fire brigade, so Teb (girl upstairs) did, and 2 fire engines turned up, and sinced there wasn’t actually a fire we got told off, for following instructions, whilst I do like it here, sometimes the management pisses me off.

Then on Friday I saw Capdown and Douglas at the Leuicester Charlotte, which is this cool little (390 capacity) venue near the city centre. The bands were awesome, but the place was filled with mini-Avrils, and some fool in front of me with a huge backpack, and he was always skanking, so his bag kept hitting me, so I pushed him, and he stopped being quite so energetic.

Got up late on Saturday, went into Town, bought some skate shoes (cos my feet were so sore after this week) and the new Thursday album, which is awesome. Went to a club night at the Union called Damned Nation, there was meant to be a punk, hardcore, and emo room, but we had to request like every song, and it was so loud that you couldn’t even hear the music, and there was like 15-20 people there, and we were 8 of them, so me and Richard left and got a takeaway.

So that was my first week as a uni student, it was rather long, but its Sunday afternoon, and I’ve got nothing to do, except maybe some washing, but everyone will be doing it today, so I don’t think I’ll bother till tomorrow morning, cos I’ve only got one lecture and that’s not till 4:30.

Till I’m bored again,

Basically this is an unchanged copy of the e-mail I sent to a few people in my address book on Sunday, I haven’t been able to get near the net for a while, but not much has happened in the past 3 days.
